Nutrition is really important
(Mr. Chen Guotai)
Dr. Chen Yikui often said that the body must absorb enough animal fats, vegetables, and minerals for a healthy body, and the nutrition must be balanced for longevity.
I remember sixty years ago, when I was in the first grade of elementary school, there was a stone-step road on the way home. When I saw my uncle walking three steps, he had to stop and sit on the stone steps to rest, and he was panting. He was out of breath, seeing him sadly unable to walk but couldn't help. Only now did I know that he lacked animal fats. At that time, their family was very poor and had insufficient oil supply. They can’t even get pork once a month. People with asthma, especially those with asthma, couldn't lack animal fats. My uncle passed away when he was forty-two years old, just as Han Yu said in a sacrifice to the twelve Langwen, "My age is not forty, and my eyes are vast, but my hair are gray, and my teeth are shaken." In fact, it is caused by lack of nutrition.
My father also had asthma when he was young, but because he had to go out to work and his financial situation was better, he would take the initiative to buy some pork home to eat when he was paid every half month. Some people say that older people cannot eat too much pork, but when he is in his eighties, he still has to eat pork belly at every meal. At the age of ninety-one, we still provide pork, eggs, fish and two vegetables for lunch and evening meals. There are at least five dishes, so his old man looks very good, even if he occasionally breathes, he will not be as sad as my uncle. And my eldest aunt is also a person who eats pork every day, and she lived to be ninety-seven and died without disease. They didn't believe what the doctor said, old people shouldn't eat too much pork, they think fat pork tastes good.
In the past, Taiwan University had a visiting professor who was hired back from the United States. He was very young and only fifty years old and was very serious. Because his family did not follow him back, he stayed in the research room every day and used the research room as his home to make preparations for convenience. He had a large box of instant noodles, and when he was hungry, he used boiling water to make noodles. Every day, I didn’t eat meat or vegetables. In less than a year, his body suddenly felt unwell. He went to the National Taiwan University Hospital to find out he got liver cancer and died soon when he was young. It is a pity that such an outstanding guest professor has left like this!
